The Warri Progressive Society (Otonloye) UK branch held its monthly meeting on the 4th of May, 2024, at the All Saints Community Hall in New Cross, London. This meeting marked Mr. Princewell Omagbemi’s first official session as the new chairman of the branch.
The gathering was lively and enjoyable, with the May celebrants providing a delectable array of Itsekiri and Nigerian traditional refreshments. Attendees showcased their cultural pride by dressing in full Itsekiri attire, with the men donning kemijes and the women looking beautiful in their blouses and colorful wrappers.
The meeting was also significant for welcoming a new member, Ms. Eyituoyo Claire Pessu, who was warmly received by the community. The event was a wonderful blend of cultural celebration and community bonding, making it a memorable occasion for all who attended.
