Otonloye UK is the UK branch of the Warri Progressive Society (Otonloye), a premier Itsekiri association renowned globally for its commitment to excellence and empowerment. Headquartered in Warri, Nigeria, the Warri Progressive Society has long been a pillar of support and cultural preservation for the Itsekiri people.

As a vital extension of the organization, Otonloye UK is dedicated to supporting and advocating for the interests of Itsekiri individuals and families living in the United Kingdom.

Our Mission
The Otonloye mission is built around three core themes:

Cultural Heritage and Preservation
To uphold those Itsekiri traditions and customs considered good and progressive in a bid to meet the test of time

Unity and Solidarity
To foster a common understanding for peace and unity amongst Itsekiris and between them and their neighbours

Development
To contribute to the educational economic and socio-economic development of our people, particularly in the Riverine Areas.
Our Events
Otonloye UK are involved in various events ranging from our monthly meetings, to end of year parties, or events we are invited to by our members. Below are some of the events.
Otonloye UK 1968 London Branch Monthly Meeting
Otonloye UK 1968 London Branch holds monthly meetings on the first Saturday of each month from March through October. Our meetings serve as a vital platform for members of the Warri Progressive Society (Alias Otonloye) to convene, discuss organisational matters, celebrate cultural heritage, and strengthen community bonds. Each meeting features engaging discussions, cultural showcases, and communal refreshments, all set within a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the rich traditions of the Itsekiri people. Through these regular assemblies, the UK Branch maintains its commitment to fostering unity and promoting the values of the broader organisation based in Warri, Nigeria.










Otonloye UK End of Year Party
The Otonloye UK Branch’s End of Year Party is an annual celebration held every November, except in exceptional circumstances. This event marks the year’s close in grand style, providing members with a chance to unwind in an atmosphere of peace, love, and mutual respect. The party varies in theme, with members sometimes dressed in elegant Itsekiri traditional attire or in formal dinner wear. Regardless of the theme, food, drinks, and dancing are always central to the festivities, making it a joyous and memorable occasion for all attendees.








Otonloye UK Events we are Invited to
Otonloye UK actively participates in a variety of events, both within and outside the Itsekiri community in the UK. These include attending funeral ceremonies of members and non-members, celebrating milestones such as birthdays and marriages, and supporting special events organized by other Itsekiri and non-Itsekiri organizations in the UK. Through their presence at these events, Otonloye UK demonstrates solidarity, cultural pride, and a commitment to fostering strong relationships within the wider community, reflecting the organisation’s core values of unity, respect, and support for one another.
